as of 0.5.12a, magic affinity influentiate time, wits will influentiate price and items, so a fairy with max ma (6), max wits (100) and as many bonus as you can get will be the perfect assistant.
keep in mind, that after a certain value it will not matter how much more ma and wit your assistant has.
