Okay, I finally got it.  Not sure what I did that fixed it, so I'll go point-by-point, in the interest of helping out anyone else with this problem.  I got sick of trying, so I fucked off and continued the main plot, going to the lone hut and getting the slave request.  I went to Sebastian back in Wimborn and special-ordered an elf and a drow.  In total, it took about seven days for them to arrive.  On a whim, I went back to Amberguard, checked the Market, and boom.  Ayeneris.  ''No'' idea what it was that pushed it over, whether it was the new slaves, or the 7-day wait.
